Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore GM Celevel Butler steps back after eight years

Celevel (Ranoco) ButlerThe general manager of Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore, Celevel Butler, is to step back from the agency she has worked for for eight years.

The news emerged today after Publicis Communications, the new creative unit for Publicis Groupe, announced the shift of senior suit Sidhaesh Subrah from Publicis Worldwide to Saatchi & Saatchi and a role of similar seniority to Butler’s.

Butler will continue to work for the agency on a part-time basis.

A statement from the CEO of Publicis Communications Singapore, Lou Dela Pena, shared with Mumbrella this afternoon, read: “Celevel has decided to spend more of her time pursuing some of her passions and interests outside of the office and will be shifting to a more flexible working arrangement with Saatchi & Saatchi as a result. We respect her decision and look forward to her continued contributions to the team’s success.”

Butler joined Saatchi & Saatchi in 2008 from mobile telco O2 Asia, where she was senior marketing manager. In her career, has also worked in senior account management roles at Bates CHI & Partners, Y&R and M&C Saatchi.

Dela Pena was appointed CEO of Publicis Communications at the start of the year. The formation of Publicis Communications is part of a plan at group-level to eliminate silos and offer a more integrated service for clients. Since her appointment, the agency has performed well, although Singapore CEOs of Saatchi & Saatchi and Leo Burnett have moved on.
