Malaysian business portal The Edge Markets, part of The Edge Media Group, has switched website domains after a series of cyber attacks.

An email went out to readers this afternoon to inform them of the attacks on theedgemarkets.com, and gave www2.theedgemarkets.com as the new domain.

A message on the original website first featured a ‘This site can’t be reached” alert and was this evening changed to: “Our servers have been under constant attack since Monday, 31 May 2016 and we are working hard at restoring it back to order.”

The website is part of the Edge Media Group, which publishes Edge Weekly and the Edge Financial News, the print titles that were suspended from publishing by the Malaysian government following their reporting of the 1MDB corruption allegations.

An executive at The Edge declined to speculate on the reason behind the attacks when approached by Mumbrella.

The email to readers:

Dear readers of  theedgemarkets.com,

You can access our website via www2.theedgemarkets.com.

Our servers have been under constant attack since Monday, 31 May 2016 and we are working hard at restoring it back to order.

Thank you for being patient with us and our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused.
