In a move to strengthen its regional research offering, McCann has moved Nadia Tuma-Weldon, the SVP and director of the network’s global Truth Central thought leadership platform, from New York to Singapore.

The move, according to the agency, acknowledges the growing importance of Asia Pacific as a region in which it is “critical to understand complex cultural nuances,” and comes ahead of the launch two new global studies, each with an APAC focus.

The ‘Truth about Youth’ is to launch this month, and the ‘Truth about Aging’ in the final quarter of the year.

Tuma-Weldon joined Truth Central in 2013, and has experience of Asia having run the recent Truth about Global Brands study – the largest study to date – in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo.

She also led the ‘Truth About Privacy’ and her most recent project was a study on luxury and the lives of the wealthy called the ‘McCann Tastemakers Council.

She commented: “Asia is thriving as a major hub of creativity and ideas, representing the future of our industry. The cultural dynamics here are multi-faceted and complex, and our hope is to both expand Truth Central expertise in the region, and share back regional insights with our global network and clients.”
