Gallardo & Associates, an independent ad agency in the Philippines also known in the market as Gasso, has closed after 22 years in business, Mumbrella understands.

The agency launched by former Basic/FCB ECD Nonoy Gallardo in 1994 as Creative Partners, and six years later rebadged to Gallardo & Associates after a change of management, was run by Gallardo, the general manager, and Patrick Tolentino as managing director.

Calls to the agency ring out, emails have gone unreturned and the company’s Facebook page has been taken down. A number of sources familiar with the matter say the business has closed.

The agency with a mission “to make miracles happen” positioned itself as a medium sized agency offering clients competitively priced multinational-quality serving and creative.

In an interview with the Philippine Inquirer in 2012, Mario Monteagudo, whom Gallardo had hired from Ace Saatchi & Saatchi in the 1990s, said: “When you say ‘Nonoy Gallardo,’ the first thing that comes to mind is he doesn’t believe in creativity for creativity’s sake, he despises scam ads.”
