Publicis Media names APAC practice leads as Jonathan Mackenzie joins to run data arm

Publicis Media has hired former Omnicom Media Group programmatic chief Jonathan Mackenzie as head of data, tech and innovation as APAC boss Gerry Boyle completes the practice lead line-up for Publicis Groupe’s newly formed media unit.

Mackenzie left OMG after a six-year stint with the group last month.

Publicis Media’s head of analytics and insights will be Harpreet Kaintel, who has spent 10 years with Zenith, latterly as regional CIO.

Leading the trading function will be Andy Carter, who is relatively new to the group having joined as head of trading for Vivaki Exchange at the start of the year from GroupM.

Zenith’s APAC chief strategy officer Christopher Harrison will lead strategy for Publicis Media, Starcom’s Ian Loon run digital, and Starcom’s Rajesh Mahtani will spearhead business development for the region.

Zenith’s Christina Kenyon will also manage business development while Deepa Balji, previously with Starcom, will head up comms.

Completing Boyle’s practice lead line-up is Chingyi Chan, who will run the finance department for the group.

Boyle was appointed to lead Publicis Media in March after a restructure of Publicis Groupe’s media operations saw six agency brands reduced to four, with the Scot, who previously led Zenith, assuming overall leadership of the group brand in Asia Pacific.

The news emerges two months after Publicis Media announced new management for key APAC markets Singapore, China and India.
