Starcom APAC president Mike Amour exits

Mike AmourMike Amour, the APAC president of Starcom, is leaving the agency after 18 months in the job.

The Scot was hired as the regional agency head, with the exception of North Asia, when the media agency moved away from its sub-regional structure in January 2015, but moves on amid a wholesale restructure of parent company Publicis Groupe’s media arsenal.

Gerry Boyle, CEO of Publicis Media APAC, said in a statement this morning: “Mike made a significant contribution to Starcom Mediavest’s business in APAC over the past 18 months, including helping win new global assignments as well as delivering solid revenue growth and profits in his region. We wish Mike the very best with his next chapter.”

Amour moves on soon after Starcom’s Southeast Asia CEO Jeffrey Seah, and the agency’s Southeast Asia COO Ranga Somanathan, who have both departed after a far-reaching restructure by Publicis to rationalise its media buying offering.

Amour commented: “Crossing over to the media side of our business has been invaluable, having previously been attached to some of the world’s  top creative and experiential agencies. It has given me a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing clients, as well as the broader industry. I wish Gerry and the team at Publicis Media well with the new organisation.”

Publicis Media named its practice leads last month, and heads of operations for Singapore, India and China in April.
