The brand conducted an experiment when K-pop band B.A.P came down to town for their tour, giving groups of young Singaporeans a choice – either upgrade their ticket seats to get closer to the performers and abandoning their friends, or take a selfie with their friends instead with an Oppo R9 for a chance to win the phone.

The sample size was about 100, out of which, only two chose the upgrade.

The idea was conceived in-house, led by Oppo Singapore marketing manager Russell Tan.
