51 mothers sing national anthem in StarHub National Day film to promote unity in Singapore
StarHub has launched a music video to mark Singapore’s 51st National Day since independence.
Titled ‘Majulah Moms’, 51 mothers from different racial backgrounds sing Singapore’s National Day anthem ‘Malujah Singapura in the three-minute film created by DDB Singapore.
“All are united to show Singaporeans that it is never about where we came from, but it has always been where we are going,” a press statement accompanying the film reads. “StarHub hopes to inspire all Singaporeans to unite as One Singapore.
The video links to a ‘making of’ film, which features some of the stories of those featured in the video.
In addition to the film, StarHub is making a donation from its corporate philanthropy vehicle StarHub Sparks Fund to Daughters of Tomorrow (DOT), a local charity that provides support to underprivileged mothers.
nicely done
ReplyI thought it was a government ad.
ReplyHits all the right notes in all the right places.
ReplyFirst time I am seeing caucasians feature so prominently in a national day ad….so I presume they are new citizens
If you know who owns over 40% of starhub, then you can begin to understand the thinking behind this message.
This year’s theme is very different from the past years…which have almost always been some variation of the words OUR LOVELY HOME.
This year, theres no feel good theme: economic growth has stalled, retrenchments are gathering steam and it’s only going to get worse….the natives also seem more and more upset about being displaced and replaced by foreigners who seem fine with working for peanuts, not contributing to cpf or doing national service.
There seems to be a real urgency from the very top to head off any Brexit-type of sentiment of taking our country back…
Hence the call for ‘unity’…and usually when people call for unity, there usually is very little or none of it.
ReplyAnother great film by DDB Singapore
ReplyMinisters keep saying Singaporean core does not mean Singaporeans, this Ad tells it all.
