Content by YouTube creators makes up the bulk of the top 10 most viewed ‘ads’ on YouTube for the first half of the year.

“Unsurprisingly, Singaporeans still love their local content best, especially those with a stronger focus on family values and sentimental ties. Not only was the content well-delivered, these ads contained the winning recipe needed for a viral video – brands prioritised storytelling or humour in the ads over marketing spiel,” reads a press release about the ranking from Google.

In Malaysia, Leo Burnett’s ‘Rubber boy’ film for Petronas topped the list of YouTube ads for that country, released last week.
