APPIES to launch disruptor panel as 72 marketing campaigns go for glory

More than 70 campaigns have been shortlisted for the APPIES APAC 2016.

Organisers of the APPIES APAC 2016 proudly announces the 73 shortlisted campaigns for Appies APAC 2016 and the introduction of a new Disruptor Panel.

The shortlist of 73 integrated matrketing campaigns represent the region’s best marketing campaigns spanning six categories, including Consumer Durables, Consumer Services, Food & Beverage, Non-Food FMCG, Business Services and Government, Cultural, , Social & Environmental, and feature leading brands such as MasterCard, KFC, Airbnb, Coca-cola, Nestle, Dettol, Scoot, etc.

This year, a couple of Cannes Lions 2016 winners will also be presenting LIVE.

42% of finalist entries came from India this year, representing the biggest cluster from Asia Pacific. This mirrors the global trend from the vibrant market, India. Government, Cultural, Social and Environmental Campaigns and Non-Food FMCG are two most popular categories entered by India. With strong presence represented by winners from Appies Malaysia, 22% of finalist entries were from Malaysia.

While corporates or “incumbents” struggle to adjust strategies and initiatives to deal with a dynamic environment, disruptors in the marketing arena are changing the rules of the game with their innovative initiatives. The new Disruptor Panel will be led by Krishan Patel, Amobee’s Vice-President Global Business Development. Other panellists such as Emma Heap from foodpanda
and Tito Costa from Zalora will also share their innovative gameplay in the marketing arena.

The LIVE 4-6-20 campaign presentation format continues to be a big draw for participants and audience members. Each presentation will begin with a 4-minute video reel summarising the campaign and followed by a live 6-minute exposition of the campaign’s key highlights by the brand’s marketers/campaign creators. Then comes the interactive 20-minute session where each campaign is cross-examined by both the judges and the audience.

Sameer Desai, Head of Consumer Healthcare Mundipharma – Asia, Latin America, Middle East and Africa is Chief Judge for Appies APAC 2016. Sameer has a proven track record for growing brands into dominant market positions across different categories and passionate about Innovation in Emerging Markets, digital marketing and in driving access at the bottom of the pyramid and has been invited as a speaker to various international conferences. He will be leading a panel of C-suite marketing leaders from the who’s who in the global marketing fraternity.
