The announcement:

Dentsu Aegis Network Malaysia has completed today announced the opening of its new headquarters in Damansara Heights, Kuala Lumpur, bringing together all 13 brands within the network under one roof, and becoming the first and only global advertising group in the country to do so.

The co-location seeks to enhance seamless collaboration and maximise business opportunities across the group in its collective commitment to deliver innovative solutions to clients.

The new office launch was officiated by Nick Waters, CEO, Dentsu Aegis Network Asia Pacific; Takaki Hibino, CEO, Dentsu Branded Agencies and Dentsu Media Asia Pacific; Dick van Motman, Chairman & CEO, Dentsu Aegis Network Southeast Asia; and Nicky Lim, CEO, Dentsu Aegis Network Malaysia.

Speaking at the opening, Lim said, “This is a significant milestone in the development of Dentsu Aegis Network Malaysia since its establishment here. Our global network’s ‘One P&L’ per country collaborative operating model has been a steering force in our performance in recent times, thus bringing all 13 brands and over 400 talents together is necessary. As one network in one market operating from one office and sharing one vision of innovating the way brands are built, the ‘Power of One’ will ensure that we stay at the forefront, and drive us to unleash a whole range of innovative and integrated solutions for our clients across the spectrum of media, digital, and creative communications, as well as sports marketing services.”

Situated in the heart of Damansara Heights’ prime business district, Dentsu Aegis Network and all its agencies, namely media services agencies – Carat, Vizeum, Media Cubic, Media Palette; creative services agencies – Dentsu LHS, Merdeka LHS, Dentsu One, Isobar; as well as digital and specialist agencies – Consider iProspect, Columbus, Dentsu Sports Asia, Posterscope and psLIVE, are now co-located at Level 8-12 of Wisma Guocoland Damansara City, a Grade-A office tower block. The relocation of its operations to this new office space underpins its ambition for future expansion and growth plans.

“Above and beyond that, our heritage-themed office proudly celebrates our country’s melting pot of culture and diversity that makes us uniquely Malaysian, befitting and timely indeed as Malaysia celebrates its 59th Independence Day this month,” Lim added.

Commenting on the grand opening, van Motman said, “What we do has never changed: we build brands and business through engaging with consumers. How we do it in a world where you can be everywhere instantaneously, always on and consumers are media too, requires different skill sets but above all, different mindsets. Agility and collaboration are key to this. The way we work and bring the best talent together seamlessly makes that come alive. We need to move at the speed of culture. And our work space is a reflection of this. Dentsu Aegis Network Malaysia is one of our flagship operations and I’m very pleased to see that under Nicky’s leadership they are once again manifesting this. I think our new place signifies another growth cycle.”

Officiating the launch, Waters commented, “Our operating model sees us manage all agencies in the Group as one business under one P&L. This incentivises cross-disciplinary teams of specialists to collaborate freely to develop and execute integrated solutions for clients, based on the right strategy for the client rather than what an agency wants to sell. Co-locating all our teams in the same building removes the geographic barrier to better collaboration. It creates new opportunities for our teams to create value together. This is central to our strategy and we have now co-located most of our businesses across the Asia Pacific region, delivering strong results for our clients and our business.”

Dentsu Aegis Network Malaysia has over 400 abled talents across 13 agency brands.

That said, as part of its corporate citizenship initiative, the new office launch was in support of Johor Area Rehabilitation Organisation (JARO), a non-governmental charitable organisation that serves as a rehabilitation centre and training workshop for the physically challenged, visually and hearing impaired, spastics and slow learners. JARO’s mission is to empower the disabled community by offering employment opportunities as well as equipping them with handicraft skills in tailoring, basketry and book-bindery among others. Guests who attended the launch took home lovely handicrafts handmade by JARO members, courtesy of Dentsu Aegis Network.
