Hill+Knowlton Strategies hires James Liu from Ruder Finn to lead China automotive practice

Hill + Knowlton Strategies' James LiuHill+Knowlton Strategies has hired James Liu from Ruder Finn to run its automative practice in China.

The announcement:

Shanghai, 2 nd August 2016 – Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K) China has appointed James Liu as Vice President to lead its Automotive Practice. Liu will be heading H+K’s Ford account and will be based in Shanghai, reporting to QC Liang, CEO, H+K China.

Joining H+K from Ruder Finn, Liu brings over 10 years of experience in PR communications focused on the automotive industry, including several global auto brands. Well-positioned to understand the communications needs and optimal strategies for the automotive industry, Liu will take over as Ford lead from Marcel Chu, who leaves H+K to pursue personal interests after 11 years with the business.

In addition to being a specialist in automotive communications, Liu brings a well-rounded skillset with integrated communications experience across clients such as ABB, Shell Lubricant and Tencent Games, as well as six years of journalism experience. Alongside the Automotive Practice, Liu will also play a role in developing H+K’s growing Energy and Technology Practices.
