Seatbelt sign off oredee: JetStar does inflight communications in Singlish for National Day

In a bid to prove its local credentials in Singapore, Qantas low-cost carrier JetStar is to communicate with its passengers in Singlish to celebrate National Day.

On 9 August, all JetStar flights coming in to Singapore will feature Singlish-speaking announcements from the crew and pilots.

The stunt is a repeat of an idea conceived as an April Fool’s Day prank this year, and has been revived following a large number of requests from passengers and fans on social media, the airline said in a statement this afternoon.
