Woods, the former head of social media for ad agency Leo Burnett Malaysia and Janich, MD of performance agency iProspect Singapore, have set up the digital performance agency named Red².

The full-service digital agency aims to build “meaningful brand experiences through digital strategy, creative thinking and data-driven marketing,” commented Woods.

The agency’s website features work already completed for a number of clients, including California Fitness, ERI International, UFC Gym and Centuryon.

Red2Janich, who takes on the role of CEO, brings to an end more than five years at the Dentsu Aegis Network agency to start the new venture, and has a career that involved stints with Omnicom Media Group and GroupM, as a search and performance specialist both in Asia and the US.

He said it was his dream to start an agency in Vietnam. “I’ve seen what works in the digital space and what doesn’t: it’s all about performance,” said Janich. “The best digital marketing starts from a business perspective, not purely a creative one. We focus on high impact, results driven work: work that drives effectiveness through targeting and measurement from the start.”

Woods was both regional social media director for Leo Burnett’s Samsung business across APACMEA, and head of social for Malaysia. His CV features stints at M&C Saatchi Malaysia, Vocanic and GroupM and Colenso BBDO, where he began his career.

This is not the first time Woods has started his own business, having launched the digital strategy consultancy CrossTheFloor in 2013.

Janich added: “We are trying to bring the best digital thinking from our experience working with some of the largest global networks to Vietnam. Vietnam’s fast-growing marketplace became too big an opportunity to ignore. We’re a local agency with global mentality.”
