Native video ad firm Teads has made a double hire to drive an APAC expansion plan off the back of securing $47m in debt financing, bringing in Christian Guinot as SVP of APAC and Yukihiko Imamura as Japan MD.

Guinot joins the company after four years at MEC China, where he was president, and is to oversee the launch of operations from India to Australia, according to a press statement from the company also in acquisition mode. He is based in Singapore.

Teads also currently has an APAC presence in Sydney and Tokyo. Former Dentsu executive Imamura comes on board from Kenshoo, where he was APAC MD, to run the Japan operation.

Bertrand Quesada, CEO of Teads, said the European firm was “laser-focused on dominating the APAC region” and the hire of Guinot and Imamura would ensure that the company becomes “the preferred video advertising partner in APAC.”

“Our innovative outstream formats have changed the game for video advertising and helped drive new revenue streams for our publishers. We’ve built relationships with many of the world’s well-known brands and most premium global publishers, and we are confident we’ll be able to extend our top-notch client base in the APAC region,” he said.
