Havas lands Lenovo media account in SE Asia

Lenovo adHavas Media has landed its first account since taking full ownership of its agency in Malaysia and the appointment of Andreas Vogiatzakis from Omnicom Media Group as CEO for that market, taking on a chunk of the regional media business for computer maker Lenovo.

Havas Media will now handle the business in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines and Vietnam, succeeding incumbents MEC and Zenith for what the agency claims is worth $10m in billings.

Malaysia, 30h September, 2016 – Havas Media Malaysia has been appointed as the regional media agency-of-record for Chinese multinational technology company Lenovo following a competitive pitch.

The account, which is worth over US$ 10 million, will span across five countries in Southeast Asia – Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines and Vietnam, and will cover the full range of offline and online media strategy, planning and buying. The incumbent on the business was MEC & Zenith Optimedia.

The agency was awarded the account based on their strategic thinking, network and buying strength as well as their ability to understand how to use data and content to drive effective business outcomes.
