Lion & Lion, the four year-old KL-based digital agency, has been acquired by Japan’s Septeni Holdings for an undisclosed.

Lion & Lion’s co-founders, Casper Andersen and Hugh Batley, will remain in place running the agency.

Lion & Lion has clients including Nestlé, L’Oréal, Google, Apple, Coca-Cola and Giant, and has grown from 25 people in 2013 to 170 staff.

The acquisition will support Lion & Lion’s international expansion, and give Septeni a foothold in the Southeast Asia region outside of Japan.

Lion & Lion has offices in Singapore, Hong Kong and Indonesia as well as KL where the company is headquartered.

Andersen and Batley said in a joint statement: “For our team this is great validation of what we have been doing and where we want to go. Joining with a similar minded culture as our own, Septeni will bring more power to our services, our business, our team and ultimately our clients. We are very happy about our new shareholder and very much looking forward to the future together”.
