Coming in to replace her is Marc Mallett, who moves from ESPN’s New York office to take on the role.

The sports media firm has also created two new roles, head of Southeast Asia and North Asia, which the company says are needed to support regional growth and a deal with Tencent in China.

Eleven Sports Network executive Joyee Biswas has been appointed as head of Southeast Asia and will be based in Singapore. The company’s Southeast Asia commercial director Kelly Cooke moves from Singapore to Hong Kong and the role of North Asia GM.

Both report to APAC boss Mike Morrison, who said: “It’s an exciting time for ESPN in the region, with ground-breaking collaborations in China and India, a thriving multimedia business in Australia and New Zealand, further expansion and localization of the world’s leading digital sports business and continued exploration of new business opportunities in Southeast and North Asia.”
