The announcement:

MediaCom has today announced the promotion of Anand Krishnan, currently General Manager, to Managing Director of MediaCom Vietnam. Acknowledging exceptional talent from within, Krishnan will succeed former Managing Director Lam Le, who will be relocating to Australia in the coming months.

Krishnan, an established industry veteran, has had an expansive 16-year career that has seen him work in markets including India and China. Joining The Content + Connections Agency in 2013, he assumed his role as General Manager and has since risen to be an extremely valuable asset to the agency nationally.

Mark Heap, Chief Executive Officer of MediaCom APAC said “Anand and I have known each other for many years since we were colleagues in China together, and I’ve always found him to be a real pleasure to work with. He leans in with a positive attitude and applies his knowledge to always seek new solutions and improvements. That’s why he’s built a great reputation and got very strong client relationships.

We spotted his potential a while ago and so enrolled him in our management development programme, Momentum, which runs as an immersive and intensive course to pave the way for senior staff to move into agency leadership roles.

This training, plus the credibility and relationships he’s built over the last three years made him an obvious choice to lead us into 2017 and build on the brilliant foundation that Lam has established.”

Speaking about his appointment, Krishnan said, “I’m thrilled to get the opportunity to lead MediaCom Vietnam. Lam has been an excellent leader, boss and friend and he leaves me with an agency full of positive energy and momentum. We were there together on the stage to accept the Media Agency of the Year award a few months ago and it was one of the proudest moments of my career.

Vietnam is such a dynamic and exciting country and there’s so many good things happening throughout the MediaCom network that I’m looking forward to expanding our offering and strengthening our business even more in 2017.

We’ll be bringing in some new skills and services that will ensure we stay exciting for our staff and lead the market in the knowledge, advice and partnership we provide our clients.”

Commenting further, Heap added “Lam will be leaving MediaCom after almost 6 years at the helm and over 14 years with the group, including his earlier time with MindShare. He’s been an outstanding credit to the group and has led us to our strongest position ever in the market as the 2015 Agency of the Year winners.

Lam will continue to remain involved with MediaCom Vietnam into 2017 as a special advisor from his new home in Australia ensuring a smooth transition.

Krishnan appointment is effective from 1 st January 2017 and will see him report jointly into Mark Heap, Chief Executive Officer of MediaCom APAC and Ed Thesiger, CEO GroupM Vietnam & Indonesia.
