Amobee makes senior hire to help operators ‘better understand and engage customers’

toddSingtel’s mobile advertising division, Amobee, has ramped up its senior team with the appointment of Todd Chu to the newly-created position of senior vice president, global operator innovation.

He will oversee Amobee’s new products offerings and lead the marketing and ad tech Solutions Architecture team. Chu will also work with the company’s global business development team to expand its proprietary Amobee Brand Intelligence solutions.

The appointment comes four months after the recruitment of Robert Woolfrey as senior vice president in Asia, a hire which Amobee said brought “significant digital experience” to the business.

Chu joins from Signal, a company he helped establish in 2007 which is described as a “People-Based Marketing platform” designed to help brands make better use of cross-channel data and  marketing technologies. He also had spells with aQuantive and DoubleClick.

Expanding on Chu’s role at Amboee, the company said Chu will be responsible for “delivering new products to help operators continually innovate and better understand and engage customers”.

“Operators have an enormous opportunity to leverage their assets for a multitude of opportunities including on and off-domain personalization, powering websites and call centers, market research, and analytics,” a spokesperson added.
