IPG Mediabrands restructures in Thailand as it targets increased digital growth

malee-wannee-tharaputhIPG Mediabrands has restructured its operations in Thailand as it sets its sights on sizeable digital growth in 2017.

The restructuring involves the integration of three business units – Ensemble, Strategy & Innovation and Dot Digital – into one single Ensemble entity, as well as the creation of a team of 15 ‘digital scientists’. The team will act as a supporting business unit for IPG Mediabrands under the name Mediabrands Intelligence, led by Khanokkhan Prajongsangsri.

The new Ensemble will provide fully integrated content and activation solutions, as well as scientific and market research support and digital solutions.

IPG Mediabrands in Thailand now consists of media agencies UM and Initiative and the newly-formed Ensemble.

The restructure coincides with the appointment of Malee Kittipongpisal as CEO of Initiative Thailand. Formerly general manager of Mindshare, she will work alongside IPG Mediabrands Thailand group CEO Tharaputh Charuvatana and chairman Wannee Ruttanaphon. Charuvatana was appointed group CEO at the beginning of the year, although his appointment has only now been made public.

Commenting on her appointment, Kittipongpisal said: “The industry is going through tremendous changes and evolving much quicker than anticipated. This dynamism excites me because of the opportunity it brings to create unconventional and brilliant work.

“As an industry challenger, there is freedom to express more creativity. I believe that with my decades of frontline experience combined with Initiative’s strong fundamentals and unique tools, this sleeping giant has the capacity to create excitement to the media scene once again.”

She added: “The biggest challenge is to propel the company forward, whilst creating an atmosphere conducive to progression, fearlessness and harmony. Because when our people are happy, our clients are also happy. This industry is all about people.”
