Ford Ranger Thailand goes for tried and tested creative in new campaign from GTB

Ford Ranger Thailand has returned to a familiar theme of a vehicle falling from the sky in a new campaign from creative agency GTB Asean.

TV spots, designed to show the resilience of the vehicle, show people waiting in locations with heavy loads before the Ranger falls from the sky.

The campaign will also include outdoor and online.

GTB regional creative director Paul Grubb said it needed to differentiate the Ranger.

“Every truck commercial in Asia talks about how tough they are, then they show it driving through a few puddles and over a bit of gravel, all the stuff a crappy old saloon could do,” he said.

“So we needed to make Built Ford Tough actually mean something.”

“Basically, the guys are thinking: What car can carry all this stuff, or what car can get this load up that hill, then the Ranger drops in.”
