BBDO Singapore on hunt for new GM as Joe Braithwaite heads for UK and Proximity London

joeBBDO Singapore general manager Joe Braithwaite will relocate to the UK next month after eight years with the agency to head up sister agency Proximity London.

A replacement has yet to be announced.

In the interim, BBDO Southeast Asia president Richard Fraser will assume management responsibilities for the Singapore office.

Braithwaite initially worked as client services director at BBDO, running accounts including Guinness, Fonterra and Tiger Beer, before being promoted to GM in 2015.

He previously spent five years at Iris as account director.

Chairman and chief executive of BBDO Asia, Jean-Paul Burge, said: “I hired Joe several years ago and he has over-delivered on the promise he first showed when joining us. He has been an integral part of building Singapore agency’s reputation and business, and has navigated an impressive journey to the position he is in today.

“Joe’s move to London is a reflection of our commitment to develop our best people and provide opportunities to move within the global network and I am delighted to see him continuing progressing his career within our company.”

Braithwaite, who will take the role as MD at Proximity London, said in a statement: “As every Singaporean knows, eight is a lucky number, and my eight years with BBDO Singapore really proves that.

I’ve had the chance to work with the most inspirational people, partner with some phenomenal brands and create work that really makes a difference.

“I’m exceptionally grateful to the BBDO network, management team and last but not least the people, for making my time in Asia a truly unforgettable experience.”
