Dentsu Aegis Network Philippines replaces CEO Angelito Pangilinan with Donald Lim

Dentsu Aegis Network Philippines has appointed its second CEO in less than a year with Donald Lim taking over from Angelito Pangilinan. Known within the industry as ‘BoyP’, Pangilinan replaced outgoing CEO Miguel Ramos only last March. He will now move into the role of non-executive chairman from April.

In his new role, Pangilinan will be responsible for developing industry relationships – the holding company said. A 40-year veteran of the advertising and media industry, Pangilinan joined the network as CEO of Carat Philippines in 2012, before moving to lead sister agency Vizeum in May 2015.

Despite approaching retirement, Pangilinan was chosen to replace Ramos as CEO of the DAN Philippines network in March 2016 as a transition hire. Mumbrella Asia understands that the network intended him to fill the role on an interim basis until a suitable candidate was found, at which point Pangilinan would take a step back in anticipation of his retirement.

Pangilinan’s replacement Lim joins DAN from Filipino broadcasting giant ABS-CBN Corporation, where he served as chief digital officer. He is also the founding president of the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines.

Pangilinan said: “The Philippines is gaining a lot of traction economically and digitally. Having spent many years working in this market, it is at this very moment that we can really let true innovation take flight and succeed.” Lim added: “I’m both motivated and excited to bring Dentsu Aegis Network Philippines to the forefront and secure our position as leaders in the digital economy.”

“It’s now time to accelerate our journey and unlock our full potential with next generation leadership that can move freely between creativity, data and media. Both BoyP and I agreed that Donald Lim embodies all these qualities and has an excellent track record driving transformational growth by knowing where the industry is headed to and building high performance teams to get there,” said DAN South East Asia CEO Dick van Motman.
