Edelman hires former Dentsu Indonesia boss Bobby Arthawan

Communications firm Edelman has hired former president director of Dentsu Indonesia Bobby Arthawan as the head of its brand division.

Arthawan quietly left the agency last March less than two years after joining from the company GoMobile, where he served as chief executive officer. Arthawan has also worked at BBDO Worldwide, Ogilvy One and Grey Group during his 10-year career.

He said: “The way we communicate to market a brand demands that we talk to the target consumers in honest and relevant ways. I believe that Edelman has the clear vision and passion to lead this space for our brands.”

Arthawan will report to Edelman Indonesia CEO Raymond Siva and Rupen Desai, who has been appointed as vice chairman for Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.

The company has also named Mark Renshaw as global chair of the brand division.
