FleishmanHillard in mourning following death of Manila GM Cosette Romero

deadThe president and senior partner of PR firm FleishmanHillard Asia Pacific has paid tribute to its Manila-based general manager Cosette Romero who has passed away.

Lynne Anne Davis described the loss of a “beloved friend and colleague” as an “incredible shock to the entire FleishmanHillard family”.

“Since joining the agency in 2002, Cosette always led with her head and her heart, as an industry pioneer, trusted advisor and mentor to so many,” Davis said.

“The tremendous respect and relationships she built over a lifetime made all around her grow, not the least of which was FH Manila. Under her leadership, the office has grown to become one of the most successful in our network.”

Davis added that Romero “distinguished herself as a champion of our profession”, having picked up numerous awards and holding leadership roles in industry organisations.

She was a former president of the International Association of Business Communicators (Philippines) and in 2013 received the John D Graham Award of Excellence, FleishmanHillard’s “highest recognition of counselors who demonstrate outstanding leadership and exemplify the firm’s values”.

“Cosette leaves an inspiring legacy of excellence marked by a strong passion for communications and deep compassion for people that will be forever cherished,” Davis added.

Theresa Defensor, vice president, has assumed the role as acting general manager of FH Manila.
