Former Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore GM Celevel Butler takes senior role at Edelman

Celevel ButlerFormer Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore general manager, Celevel Butler, has spoken of her desire for a “new challenge” after resurfacing at Edelman as managing director, integrated brand.

Butler stepped back from her full time role at Saatchi & Saaatchi in June last year but continued working on a part time basis.

She departed in November.

In her new role, Butler will look to develop earned and digital media for brands.

Butler said of her new role at Edelman: “Building brands has shifted away from communicating through a TVC to earning the attention of audiences.

“Edelman’s PR heritage and strength in digital positions the agency as a leading partner to help brands navigate the changing communications landscape.

“I am energized by this new challenge and look forward to working my talented colleagues to evolve Edelman into the agency of the future for our clients.”

Butler will have immediate responsibility for the “vision, strategy and operations of Edelman Singapore’s Consumer practice”.

A statement from Edelman said she will also collaborate with the firm’s digital, strategic planning and creative teams.

“Brands, increasingly, need to be both authentic and talkable. Clients are already working with us on brand solutions that are earned and digital at their core,” said Edelman Singapore chief executive Amanda Goh.

“Celevel’s commitment to client innovation and creativity coupled with her experience in leading award-winning integrated brand teams will further fast track our communications marketing mandate with clients.”

Butler joined Saatchi & Saatchi in 2008 from mobile telco O2 Asia, where she was senior marketing manager.

In her career, has also worked in senior account management roles at Bates CHI & Partners, Y&R and M&C Saatchi.
