Pablo Gómez Martínez moves from IPG Mediabrands to Kantar as APAC head of media
WPP’s market research unit, Kantar Millward Brown, has appointed Pablo Gómez Martínez as head of media for Asia- Pacific.
Martínez will take up the position at the Singapore base from May. He replaces Mark Henning, who previously held the role overseeing the Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific regions. Henning is now executive director for media and digital for Kantar in Australia.
Martínez joins from IPG Mediabrands, where he was regional communications planning director for APAC working for clients including J&J, Cerebos-Suntory, ExxonMobil and Coca-Cola. Prior to this, he worked for Millward Brown in Spain and London between 2003 and 2011.
In his new role, Martínez will lead the regional teams on brand, marketing and media performance across digital and non-digital channels.
Kantar chief executive of global media and digital practice Gonzalo Fuentes said: “Pablo has worked with a host of multinational businesses to develop new research methods that provide the key insights needed to make critical business decisions.”
Hey Mumbrella – if you know the history about MB, which obviously you don’t, this is more newsworthy than placing Naomi Michael news on the top. Do your research and due diligence.
ReplyI am happy for Pablo. He has been a great inspiration to our business and has provided great work and innovation to our business. A major loss for MB
ReplyMB’s only direction is to fill up roles with Australians. It is widely known urban myth. How can they be dynamic if it has become a mono culture? A lot of old timers are leaving MB because they do not see any future for themselves in the company. Pablo is a big loss to MB.
ReplyClient, Mike – this guy is joining MB….isn’t it IPG’s loss?
ReplyHe was servicing our business when he was in Mediabrands (MB). So a loss to MB and IPG. I believe he is joining Kantar.
ReplyOn a separate note, isn’t McCann part of IPG? I am surprised that you don’t know your own company structure if you are from McCann.
HK McCann When they say MB they mean Mediabrands.
ReplyYes IPG MB’s way of qualifying talent is Aussie first. Unfortunately the demise of the network is more apparent than ever. Its unfortunate that a lot of good talent and true potential within the network especially at regional level never made it to the client side because of internal politics. The Aussie man knows the best?
