Carat APAC appoints Kevin Walsh CEO as Sean O’Brien moves to new role after 6 years

O’Brien and Walsh

The managing director of Asia-Pacific Kevin Walsh has been promoted to chief executive officer following a leadership restructure. Walsh will take over the role from Sean O’Brien, who is to become CEO for Dentsu Aegis Network’s marketing agency MKTG and out of home specialist Posterscope in a newly-created role.

O’Brien will be tasked with growing Posterscope’s digital efforts and expanding MKTG’s presence across the APAC region. He took over the CEO role six years ago after moving from Omnicom Media Group, where he worked in London and Thailand.

Meanwhile, Walsh joined DAN’s global digital performance marketing agency iProspect as managing director in Australia in 2010, before moving to Singapore. Two years later, he moved internally to Carat to take on the role of chief digital officer for the region. Last year he was promoted to managing director. His role will not be replaced, DAN has confirmed.

He said: “With the digital economy disrupting all industries, Carat needs to remain at the forefront of convergence so as to help our clients navigate what is a tremendously complex landscape.”
