Endemol Shine partners with South Korea’s JTBC to create new reality TV show

International production company Endemol Shine Group has partnered with South Korean television network JTBC to bring a new reality TV show to the Asian market.

The show marks the company’s second foray into the South Korean market, following the launch of The Society Game with local broadcaster CJ E&M in October last year.

The new production is said to be in its early stages currently and will be co-produced by Endemol Shine and JTBC.

Although intended to be filmed and subsequently aired later this year in South Korea, the company hopes to distribute the show to other markets around Asia.

Endemol Shine Group Creative Networks chief executive Lisa Perrin said: “JTBC is a young and innovative channel with a strong track record in original content and this deal enables us to further tap into Korea’s prolific creativity.”

The company has previously made popular television shows in Asia including MasterChef AsiaPinoy Big Brother, The Brain China and The Money Drop Mongolia.

Since launching in 2011, JTBC has become one of the biggest channels in Korean broadcasting. The broadcaster is most famously behind hit Asian music series Hidden Singer
