Racepoint Global looks for further expansion in Asia with hire of Mark Jackson as deputy MD

Integrated agency Racepoint Global has named a new deputy managing director for Asia, with former Ogilvy & Mather technology executive Mark Jackson set to “deepen and expand” its presence in Asia.

Jackson will also oversee Racepoint’s new operation in Shenzhen, China, its fourth office in Asia, where it will focus on attracting Chinese brands wanting to crack the US and European markets. The agency also has a presence in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Racepoint president and chief executive Peter Prodromou described growth in Asia as “critical”, with Jackson’s appointment key to leading the expansion.

“We are already experiencing huge success helping major Asian brands to penetrate the west, and our western-based clients to penetrate the dynamic Chinese markets,” he said. “Mark, with his history in emerging and growth markets and his deep understanding of our unique offer, is the ideal person to lead our agency in the region.”

Prior to joining the agency, Jackson was Ogilvy & Mather’s technology lead in the Middle East and North Africa. He said his focus will be on China.

“With its fast growing technology sector and increased focus on healthcare, Racepoint, with its heritage in both of these markets, is ideally placed to support organisations of all sizes grow domestically and internationally,” he said.
