Uber tries to recruit more drivers in Singapore with Facebook film
BBH has created a social media recruitment campaign for Uber featuring Singaporean comedian Rishi Budhrani trying – and failing – to find his ideal job.
The two-minute video shows Budhrani going through a series of job interviews with the demands of having flexible work hours, no boss and a company car. Unsurprisingly, the recruiters are not exactly impressed.
Released on Facebook today, the video ends with the tagline: “The best job isn’t a job. It’s driving with Uber.”
Created by BBH Singapore’s recently opened content production house Black Sheep Studios, a 15-second version of the video will also be released on Instagram and Uber’s app.
BBH Singapore copywriter Kevin Tosi said: “The casting of Rishi with his perfect comic timing and baffled hiring managers make for a film that we hope will both entertain and resonate with people. We all know that working whenever we want is only a dream for most of us.”
Uber Singapore general manager Warren Tseng added: “To reach out to potential drivers in Singapore, Uber needed to challenge normal perceptions of what a job should be. The first thing we did was take away the notion of a typical job and highlight how earning with Uber can be a great alternative.”

The guy has 30 years managerial experience and he’s looking for flexible hours with a car…..hmmmm.
Sounds just like the thousands of PMETs who’ve been let go due to the recession or been replaced with cheaper ‘talent’ from third world asia.
Amazing how anyone could have the gall to put out a video to dress this up.
Shameful.
ReplyMessage is loud and clear…..uber is for f’wits and wastrels.
ReplyBBH did this??
I know standards have dropped at the agency, but really? Didn’t they use to stand for something?
