Dr Mumbo

When you can’t pay your agencies, pay celebrities instead

Dr Mumbo was mildly amused to come across this recent article on Asia One promoting the Singaporean start-up Lovewin – the same Lovewin that recently came a-cropper for allegedly failing to pay its agencies.

Probably in need of some glowing PR, Lovewin has persuaded Taiwanese singers Vanness Wu, Elva Hsiao and Wu Chun and Singaporean singer JJ Lin to publicly support the social enterprise platform.

The platform, which the The Straits Times neutrally describes as allowing “users the chance to win a luxury bag while doing good – all with US$1“,  allegedly still owes the Singaporean independent agencies Type A and Text100 more than S$50,000.

Given that, Dr Mumbo cannot help but wonder how Lovewin intends to pay celebrity endorsers like Wu given its seemingly difficult financial straits.
