‘A Masterpiece’: BBDO unveils new campaign for Mercedes-Benz Malaysia

BBDO has teased the launch of the latest Mercedes-Benz in Malaysia with a series of artwork designed to capture the car’s “sophistication”.

The campaign involves a series of images and film created to reflect the car’s agility, in what BBDO Malaysia has dubbed a ‘masterpiece of intelligence’.

The images were shot through the use of long-light exposure techniques to create the final result: ‘The Masterpieces of a Masterpiece’..The work was shot in darkness and stunt drivers were forced to drift. According to the agency, cranes, flame resistant gear and a lot of patience were also required to take the perfect shot.

BBDO Malaysia creative director Lay Jian Yi said: “The E-Class is a Masterpiece in its segment – a perfect combination of logic and emotion. In light of that, we wanted to do something that’s more than just a regular car ad; something that evokes emotion. Every piece of artwork was created using the car, showing off its features. This was a collaborative effort between agency and client, and what started off as a film transcended into a showcase of art.”
