W Asia wins PR account for Singapore’s Beerfest Asia

London-headquartered public relations agency W Asia has won the communications account for Singapore’s annual beer festival following a competitive pitch.

The Singapore-based hub will handle communications for Beerfest Asia 2017, which takes place at the Marina Bay Cruise Centre on August 17.

The account remit will include a creative campaign around food and entertainment in a bid to position Beerfest Asia as Singapore’s leading F&B festival. The Sphere Exhibits-owned event is expected to attract over 30,000 people across three days.

Mumbrella Asia understands that last year’s festival was handled by boutique PR and events agency Food News.

W Asia managing director Annabel Fox said: “We’re really excited to be launching Beerfest Asia 2017, which in its ninth year, is the most prolific beer event in Asia. The event is a perfect opportunity for us to continue to grow our expertise in campaigns for large-scale events”.

The win follows W’s recent launch of a Bali base, after winning the PR account for the first Bestival Asia and the Prudential Eye Awards, a celebration of contemporary art.

The agency also won new business with the Indonesian island’s beach club Ulu Cliffhouse.
