W+K Shanghai promotes Vivian Yong to hold dual ECD role

Wieden+Kennedy Shanghai has promoted Vivian Yong to the role of executive creative director. She will work alongside the office’s current ECD Ian Toombs as a creative duo.

Yong has been with W+K since 2012, when she joined as a creative director.

Her advertising career began in 1999 at M&C Saatchi, and she has since worked at Ogilvy and McCann Erickson, living between London and Hong Kong

Since then she has worked for clients including Nike, P&G, Corona and Cathay Pacific Airlines as well as successful China-based campaigns for Tiffany and Levi’s that were adapted globally. Most recently, she was instrumental in the agency winning BMW.

She said: “Five years in W+K Shanghai has assured me that this is a truly unique office in a unique market. We have the best creative talent in the region devoted to making the best work of their lives. I am excited to partner with Ian to flourish the creative power of this office and create culturally impactful campaigns for China.”
