W Asia wins Marc Jacobs Beauty PR account for South East Asia

W Asia has won the public relations account for Marc Jacobs’ beauty business in South East Asia.

The American luxury brand is among a number of international companies managed by Kendo Holdings, an LVMH-owned beauty incubator based in the region.

Earlier this year, the company appointed W Asia to handle PR for another of its brands, Kat Von D Beauty. Covering Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia, both accounts mark the first time either brand has worked with an agency in South East Asia.

“We’re really excited to be working with Marc Jacobs Beauty,” said Annabel Fox, managing director of W Asia. “It’s a truly remarkable brand with creativity at its heart – an approach which mirrors our own agency ethos.”

The win follows W’s expansion into Bali, Indonesia, after winning the PR account for the first Bestival Asia and the Prudential Eye Awards. The agency also recently picked up an account with Beerfest Asia.

Although largely renowned for his fashion and perfume business, Marc Jacobs Beauty business has expanded considerably over recent years.

First launched in North America exclusively with the retailer Sephora in 2013, the brand has since expanded into the Middle East, Italy and France, before launching in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand in April 2014.
