Ex-Geometry MD David Paysant resurfaces at DigitasLBi Hong Kong

The former managing director of Geometry Global has joined Digitas LBi, seven months after leaving the Ogilvy-housed activation unit.

David Paysant will take over the role of MD at Digitas’ Hong Kong office, replacing Damien Tew, who will leave the agency after four years to “pursue other opportunities”, the agency said.

Originally from France, Paysant has spent the last 20 years working in Hong Kong on both the agency and client side.

Prior to taking over Geometry in 2010, he was in charge of setting up WPP’s brand activation arm OgilvyAction in Hong Kong, working on regional and global brands including British American Tobacco , Pernod Ricard, Diageo, Remy Cointreau, Intel, Huawei and UBS.

For the past seven years, he acted as MD of Geometry Global Hong Kong, before abruptly departing in March this year. He was replaced by fellow French national Anna Vanlaeys.

In his new role, Paysant will report into Annette Male, the chief executive officer of Digitas LBi Asia-Pacific. She said: “I am confident that David, with his solid experience will be a fantastic leader and that his approach will only improve the quality of work we do for our clients, allowing DigtiasLBi to continue it’s growth in Hong Kong.”

He added: “Its exciting to be part of such a great team, and I have an ambitious plan to make DigitasLBi renowned for delivering the best digital marketing transformation work in the region.”
