Dentsu X replaces creative head Mike Middleton with Dubai-based Joao Flores
Following the departure of several senior leaders, the recently rebranded agency dentsu X Singapore has appointed Joao Flores as its new head of creative.

Joao Flores
Dubai-based Flores will replace Mike Middleton, who had led the formerly-named Dentsu Mobius’ creative team for the past two years before his abrupt departure in August.

In his new role, Flores will be “responsible for evolving dentsu X’s creative media product in the region and will focus on coaching and developing creative talent within the business”, the agency said in a statement.
Flores was previously the executive creative director at HorizonFCB in the United Arab Emirates. He has also previously acted as creative director at Cheil Iberia and worked at Spanish agency Niu.
Rosalynn Tay, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network Singapore, said: “Our business continues to evolve and grow within the region. We will continue to shape our creative and leadership talent bench to bring the best ideas to the table and to deliver greater business results for our clients. dentsu X is well-positioned to drive convergence of creative, media and technology with Joao’s appointment.”
Flores’ appointment follows both Middleton’s departure and that of dentsu X’s group head of business, Roger Mulchandani, who both departed after Dentsu Mobius and Dentsu media were merged to form the new entity.
Earlier on, the agency also parted ways with its content business development Kentaro Kato.
Following the departures, dentsu X general manager Phil Adrien told Mumbrella Asia that the agency had “identified a need for change to further strengthen our leadership”.
Ciao Middleton. Hello Joao.
ReplyThere is no need in announcing a new head of creative, to be a pot stirrer (revisiting Mike Middleton) where there is no need to do so.
Way uncool Mumbrella, it is the typical story of a new MD wanting his team from Dubai (which is where he came from) to come with him. So stop trying to make drama where there is none?
Good luck to the new guy and let’s hope they don’t change the MD again.
Replytake your conspiracy theories and butt out….it’s called news.
no one has attracted more attention to middleton than middleton himself….[edited under Mumbrella’s community standards]
not sure about this new guy either….whats with all these latin american dudes in asia? would an asian get hired in spain?

Question: What’s the difference between evolution and growth, or did your education not teach you to discern between the two? Did your inability to retain the Navy business contribute to either evolution or growth?
