Ogilvy & Mather Malaysia names Jingwei Wong as creative group head

Ogilvy & Mather Malaysia has named Jingwei Wong as its new creative group head.

Reporting to Gavin Simpson, chief creative officer at Ogilvy Malaysia, Wong will primarily lead Ogilvy’s Coca-Cola account.

The announcement:

Having started his advertising career in JWT Kuala Lumpur as a junior copywriter, he has since expanded his abilities and experience by working on diverse accounts including HSBC, Kit Kat, Shell, Twisties, Wonda Coffee, Friso, OCBC, Maxis, Lazada and more. He has also won various awards – both locally and regionally – from shows such as Kancils, Spikes and Adfest.

He received a Gold Kancil and a Silver for Lazada’s 2016 brand film Blastoff, and comes from his immediate previous role as Senior Writer at Leo Burnett Kuala Lumpur. David Mayo, Chief Executive Officer of Ogilvy Malaysia said, “We are extremely pleased to have Jingwei join our new team in KL. He brings a thoroughly modern mix of creative skills to our agency as part of our next chapter at Ogilvy Malaysia and he will work crossfunctionally with our Digital and Social and Content teams from his base at the centre of our new agency model.”

Jingwei, obtained his bachelor’s degree in Visual Communications from Birmingham City College in 2010. He said that he was excited to join Ogilvy Malaysia because it presents new and interesting challenges for him, and that he would be glad to add to the already storied creative output of Ogilvy Malaysia.
