Imagination wins experiential accounts with Vivo and Carlsberg

Experiential agency Imagination has won a raft of new clients in China months after scaling back its Hong Kong operation in order to focus on the mainland.

The global agency has won a “major connected experience project” in China with smartphone company Vivo.

In addition, Imagination will also begin working with Carlsberg to create digital experiences for their new Chinese breweries, plus two unnamed startup manufacturers of electric cars to provide creative and digital services.

This further expands their client base which includes a number of brands including HSBC, Jaguar, Land Rover, Ford and Lincoln in the region.

China managing director Alistair Wilson said: “Our clients value Imagination’s ability to create truly connected experiences, everything we do is around making experiences simpler, better and smarter. All our work is underpinned with enterprise technical solutions created by our talented in house digital team.”

The news follows a transitional year for the agency, which has offices in London, Houston, Dubai, Doha, Mumbai and Shanghai, as the Asia operation increased its focus on mainland China.

The London-founded independent agency told its Hong Kong office earlier this year that it intended to close down by April 2018 in order to focus resources into Shanghai.

Until recently, the agency had a satellite base in Singapore, which has now downsized while its MD Andrew Au has departed.
