Susana Tsui leaves PHD after four years to join Dentsu Aegis Network China

PHD’s Asia-Pacific leader Susana Tsui is to leave the agency in favour of Dentsu Aegis Network where she will take over as China chief executive officer.

Based in Shanghai, Tsui will take over from current China CEO Phil Teeman, who will move to Singapore to become South East Asia CEO – the role formerly occupied by the-now promote Dick van Motman.

Tsui first joined PHD APAC in July 2013, having spent the previous eight years at OgilvyOne, where she was the regional president.

A replacement for Tsui at PHD has yet to be formally appointed. Mumbrella Asia understands that the agency’s regional team is managing her duties in the interim period.

Both appointments will be effective in April, and both Teeman and Tsui will report to Nick Waters, CEO of DAN APAC.

Phil Teeman, who has been with DAN in China since 2013, said: “I’m excited about the possibility of working with the incredibly fast moving and diverse countries in South East Asia.

“The wide range of capabilities and strengths that can be found in our businesses bring huge opportunity for growth. I look forward to working with the teams to bring together those capabilities and provide the best solutions for our clients.”

Tsui’s departure is the second senior leadership exit to hit PHD in Asia in the last year. In October, it was announced that long-serving Hong Kong CEO Ray Wong was leaving after 25 years.
