Blis Asia MD Regina Goh heads to Google

The head of advertising technology company Blis Asia is leaving after three years to join Google in Singapore.

Regina Goh has announced her departure from the location-based specialists as Hong Kong MD Richard Andrew steps into her shoes.

During Goh’s tenure, Blis secured S$25m in funding, which fuelled the growth of its offices in Singapore and Hong Kong, and also led to the opening of bases in Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur and Manila.

Before joining Blis in January 2015, Goh was the regional head of sales for mobile marketing firm Millennial Media. She has also held senior roles at InMobi and RealNetworks.

She said: “It’s a bittersweet feeling leaving a team I consider family, and I want to thank Blis very much for the amazing journey and experience. Richard is a strong and capable leader for the next stage of growth, and I’m confident that there is no one better qualified.”

Goh recently spoke on stage at Mumbrella360 Asia about the rise of location-based marketing, its comparisons to astrophysics and its implications for data and privacy.

According to sources with knowledge of the situation, Goh is due to join Google’s Asia-Pacific hub. Neither the search engine giant nor Goh was available for further comment at the time of publication.

Like Goh, Andrew first Blis joined in 2015.  Prior to joining the company, he was the general manger for Asia at Amobee, and has held senior positions at Microsoft and Yahoo! during his 15-year career. He will handle the regional role from Hong Kong.

Andrew said: ‘As more brands look to movement data technology as a core pillar of their digital strategy, I’m excited to lead the business into its next stage of growth, through the development of our products and further expansion into the Asia market.

Richard Andrew, the new head of Blis Asia

“We’ve undergone a rapid growth in the region, from a single market presence to six offices across Southeast Asia. Now my priority will be further enhancing our capabilities in movement data technology to deliver the highest performance for our valued customers.”
