Burson Cohn & Wolfe unveils local leadership across APAC

WPP’s newly-merged public relations agency Burson Cohn & Wolfe has revealed its local leadership team across Asia .

The agency, which consists of the consolidated operations of Burson Marsteller and Cohn & Wolfe, has handed former Burson South East Asia managing director Shawn Balakrishnan the market leadership of Singapore.

The Hong Kong operation will be led by the recently-appointed BM chef executive officer George Godsal, while Indonesia will be led by Nia Pratiwi, another new appointee at BM.

Meanwhile, in Beijing, Hong Qu, formerly the lead for BM, will head up BCW, as the previous China Cohn & Wolfe MD Tiffany Bai takes on leadership at BCW Shanghai.

In addition, Shuri Fukunaga, who previously led BM in Japan, will take over the new operation in the local market, while in Korea, another BM alumna, Ihn Chee, will take over the new helm.

All market leaders will report to Matt Stafford, the former regional leader of Cohn & Wolfe, who was named BCM president for APAC.

Stafford, who previously spent six years leading Burson Marsteller’s Greater China operations between 2008 and 2014, said: “As someone who has worked at both Burson-Marsteller and Cohn & Wolfe, I know that the combination of their complementary capabilities will make the new BCW such an attractive place of work for our employees and an even stronger IMC partner to our clients.
