JWT APAC wins global account with ASUS

Taiwanese computer giant ASUS has handed J. Walter Thompson Asia-Pacific the account to create its new global marketing campaign.

The brief, which covers campaign strategy, brand, digital and communications, will be led from the creative agency’s regional headquarters in Singapore.

According to the agency, the campaign will ASUS’s biggest single global marketing communications campaign to date, with work underway for international rollout.

John Gutteridge, chief executive officer, JWT APAC said: “As ASUS continue to push the boundaries of technological innovation, we look forward to helping them evolve their brand for the future.”

“ASUS’s inspirational rise from relatively humble beginnings, to becoming one of the leading PC manufacturers on the planet, is living proof that when an idea is born, a hero is born,” added Marco Versolato, agency chief creative officer.

“This is yet another client’s global communications being led out of our Singapore hub, which is testament to the continued transformation that we are effecting, and thanks to the strength of our talent in the region.”

The win marks a turnaround of JWT Singapore’s fortunes after the agency recently lost one of its flagship accounts, Changi Airport, to WPP rival Ogilvy.
