Grey Philippines veteran ‘Boboy’ Consunji steps down as CEO

Philippines advertising stalwart Jose Carlo Consunji has stepped down as the boss of Campaigns & Grey.

Consunji, who has been with Grey’s Philippines agency for more than 30 years, will be taking on the role of non-executive director after leading the agency as CEO for the past two years.

Known as Boboy, the well-known Philippines ad land figure was commended by Grey for attracting clients such as Sanofi, Tim Hortons and Smirnoff Mule during his leadership.

C&G also remains as the only Philippine agency doing regional work for P&G, the agency added in a press statement.

Grey Group AMEA CEO and chairman Nirvik Singh commented: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Boboy for all his hard work and efforts throughout his time as CEO and wish him the best in his new role.”

His replacement, Lucas, was previously the chief growth officer for DDB Group Philippines.

Prior to DDB, he headed up client services and new businesses at advertising agency DRAFTFCB.

“John brings with him a tremendous track record of success as the new CEO of Campaigns & Grey Philippines,” says Singh. “He is a dynamic, results-oriented leader with extensive knowledge of our industry and, as such, his appointment is a clear signal of our ambition to continue to aggressively pursue growth and digital transformation in the Philippines.”
