IPG Mediabrands merges specialist agencies Society and Ansible into Reprise

The advertising industry’s consolidation train has swept through IPG Mediabrands as two of its specialist agencies are folded into Reprise.

The holding company has merged its mobile specialist Ansible and social offering Society into search agency Reprise, creating a full-service performance agency.

The consolidation comes a year after Mediabrands folded its social and digital agency Rally Worldwide into Society, mirroring the integrated agency push that has recently taken hold of WPP and Publicis Groupe.

In a press statement, Mediabrands claimed the new entity would bring together Reprise’s search and SEO
capabilities with the social content and creative skills of  Society as well as the mobile media, UX and technology capabilities from Ansible.

It added: “Reprise will now offer strong global capabilities across digital channels, content creation, product and web development, along with eRetail and commerce.”

Reprise’s global footprint now encompasses more than 60 offices in 40 markets under the leadership of Tim Ringel, the newly appointed CEO.

In Asia-Pacific,  Scott McBride, IPG Mediabrands chief digital officer, will oversee Reprise’s operation.
