Kraft Heinz appoints Karina Ong as APAC chief marketing officer

The former global brand director of Ponds has been appointed as Kraft Heinz’s chief marketing officer for Asia-Pacific.

Karina Ong, who has spent the past seven years at Unilever in Singapore, will lead seven markets across the region.

She replaces Rodrigo Wickbold, who was recently promoted to Kraft Heinz president in APAC.

Prior to joining Kraft Heinz, she was with Unilever where she held several roles, the latest as global Bbrand development director for Pond’s. Before joining Unilever, she was also responsible for leading brand and marketing teams at Johnson & Johnson and Lux Asia.

Ong said: “I’m very excited by the opportunity to
be part of an innovation-led company who is not afraid to break tradition and revolutionise the food industry. I’m thrilled to bring my experience to the table to help enhance such a well-loved portfolio of brands.”

Wickbold added: “It’s great to have Karina on board to lead our regional marketing team. Without a doubt, she brings to the table a great track record of leading teams to success, achieving outstanding results for the portfolio she oversees. We can’t wait to see the energy she will bring to the team.”
