Paul Shepherd leaves New York to take up OMG role in Singapore

Omnicom Media Group has appointed Paul Shepherd as chief investment officer for Asia-Pacific, following the promotion of former CIO Tony Harradine to group chief executive officer earlier this year.

Shepherd, who has been with OMG since 2013 and most recently served as global vice-president of platforms and capabilities – a role where he was based in New York – will start in Singapore on July 1.

His remit will cover the trading and investment function of the group’s agencies in 17 markets across the Asia-Pacific region. His focus will be on services such as programmatic, sophisticated data use and bespoke platforms – the agency claimed.

Shepherd will soon land in Singapore

On the appointment, his first since taking on the CEO role, Harradine said: “With the constant digital disruption and innovation taking place in Asia-Pacific, there has never been a more exciting or important time to enhance our product offering.

Harradine is thrilled with his new hire

“As such, we’re thrilled to have Paul – a longstanding member of the Omnicom Media Group family with exceptional regional and global experience – come join us in APAC as we boldly take on new challenges.”

Shepherd himself, who has also worked in Sydney, Australia previously, added: “I look forward to working closely with Tony and the various markets in evolving our product offerings and capabilities, as well as setting some new global benchmarks for our clients.”

Chiang is now back in Australia

Harradine was promoted in April when former APAC CEO Cheuk Chiang stepped down, saying he wanted to spend more time with his family at home in Melbourne, Australia. Mumbrella understands from OMG that further management appointments are planned by Harradine for the coming weeks and months.
