PR firm Hill+Knowlton opening in the ‘Silicon Valley of China’ – Shenzhen

Global public relations consultancy Hill+Knowlton Strategies is opening a new office in Shenzhen due to it being the “the Silicon Valley of China” – according to the firm.

H+K already had existing Chinese operations in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.

Ouyang will lead the charge in Shenzhen

Florence Ouyang, previously global communications director for TCL Communication, has joined the new office as director. She will lead the growing South China team, bringing more than 18 years of experience to the role.  

H+K China president and chief executive officer QC Liang said: “Florence’s appointment and our opening in Shenzhen formalises work we already have underway with some of China’s biggest brands in Shenzhen, helping them achieve their domestic and global ambitions.”

Meanwhile, H+K Asia-Pacific regional technology director Fiona Parker added: “Shenzhen is called the Silicon Valley of China for a reason. It’s an incredible tech and innovation hub, developing at a rapid pace.

“As well as supporting key players in the tech world, the Pearl River Delta region is increasingly important for us when it comes to fintech – a space where we’re seeing rapid growth.”

H+K was the first international PR agency to open in China some 34 years ago.
